Step 1: Open the Snapchat app on your smartphone, tap on your bitmoji on the home screen, and when you get to your profile, tap on the gear icon to go to the Settings screen.
Step 2: On the Settings screen, scroll down the menu until you reach the PRIVACY section and navigate to My Data under it. Once you find it, tap on it. Snapchat will take you to another screen and ask you to fill in your login credentials (username/email and password) again. Once you’ve entered these details, hit the yellow Sign In button at the bottom.
Step 3: As soon as you sign in, you’ll see a long list of Snapchat data that’s available for download, including your snap history, which contains the data for all the snaps you’ve sent and received on your account.
If you continue to scroll to the bottom of this page, you will find a yellow SEND REQUEST button. As soon as you tap on it, the Snapchat team will start creating a report for you, which can take anywhere from a couple of hours to a couple of days, depending on how much data there is (or how long you’ve been using your account).
Step 4: When the report is ready, they will contact you at your registered email address and share the link to all your data. When you open this link, you will be prompted to download a zip file. It is this file that contains all your Snapchat data. So, you can download it, unzip it to your device, and then retrieve the video you were looking for.
While this process is fairly straightforward, it may not work for some users for two reasons:
